Cutecommute Shuttle Manager™
‘Cute Commute Shuttle Manager™’ is the latest Software as a Service (SaaS) product from LT. It was originally developed in conjunction with bus operator National Express for use at London’s Stansted Airport. It draws on the robust and proven architecture of LT’s Enterprise II solution, whilst providing users with a simple browser based interface. It is designed to make the management of fixed route shuttle buses a easy task, whilst improving the customer service offering and providing excellent reporting facilities for commissioners, travellers, customer service representatives and management alike.
A secure log-in provides staff at the Control Centre with tracking screens and electronic maps to identify the specific location of any shuttle vehicle.
Each shuttle is equipped with a GPS tracker programmed with calibrated waypoints. These waypoints which include bus stops, entry and exit points, security check points etc are ‘geofenced’* to deliver highly accurate run-time information. These plots are relayed to a central web based server, enabling ready access for both operations staff and authorised staff from commissioning bodies.
Buses can optionally be equipped with Mobile Data Terminals to download schedule information, or collect additional ‘at-stop’ data e.g. passenger count.
Customer Service Representatives on the ground can have access to live run-time information using PDA devices, and can therefore pass shuttle arrival information to waiting passengers. Regular travellers can also use this facility to see key information such as vehicle route, current location and estimated time of arrival. This provides an inexpensive way of delivering real-time information without major infrastructure costs.
Control Staff can view additional information on any specific vehicle including: · Vehicle type, registration, speed, heading and time to key waypoints
· How long a vehicle has been idle
· ‘Engine running’ status
· Digital Destination Displays information
Also, online reports that can be produced to reflect any information held within the system.
‘Cute Commute Shuttle Manager™’ is simple to use requiring limited user training and can be rapidly implemented. It is also scalable ensuring changes to fleet size and SLAs are easily accommodated. In addition, enhanced functionality can be added such as passenger facing real time running information via electronic displays where a more permanent infrastructure solution is sought.
